Frequently ASked Questions

Which S.O.S kit is right for me?

It depends on where you’re headed. The Trauma Roll is our most complete trauma kit and first aid kit, built for trucks, boats and base camp. The Minimalist is a compact, IFAK-style trauma kit for your pack or glovebox. The Commuter covers everyday cuts, scrapes and stings, and The Walker is a dog leash with a built-in first aid kit. For a side-by-side comparison, read our guide, Which S.O.S Kit Is Right for You?

What’s the difference between a trauma kit and a first aid kit?

A first aid kit handles everyday injuries like cuts, burns and stings. A trauma kit adds tools for serious, life-threatening injuries, especially severe bleeding, such as a tourniquet and a pressure bandage. Our Trauma Roll and Minimalist are trauma kits that also include first aid basics.

Are your tourniquets genuine C-A-T tourniquets?

Yes. The Trauma Roll and The Minimalist both include a genuine C-A-T (Combat Application Tourniquet), made in the USA. To learn how to tell a real tourniquet from a knockoff, read our guide, How to Spot a Quality Trauma Kit (and Avoid Cheap Knockoffs).

Can I buy an empty kit and fill it myself?

Yes. The BARE Trauma Roll is the same rugged roll that houses our complete Trauma Roll, shipped empty with two removable pouches, so you can stock it your way.

Where do you ship?

We currently ship to addresses within the United States only.

How long does shipping take?

Our kits are made to order, so delivery takes 3 to 25 business days depending on the item. Shipping costs are shown at checkout.

What is your return policy?

We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you’re not satisfied, you can return your purchase within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. Items must be unused, unopened and in their original packaging. See our Terms and Conditions for full details.

Do your products have a warranty?

Yes. Our products come with a 1-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. It doesn’t cover normal wear and tear, misuse, improper storage, or damage from use in an actual emergency. To make a claim, email us with your order number and a description of the issue.

Are your kits made in the USA?

Our cases and rolls are sewn in the USA, and every kit is hand-packed by our small team in Vista, California. We source American-made components wherever possible, including the C-A-T tourniquet in our trauma kits. Some individual components are made outside the United States. Country-of-origin details for individual components are available on request. Email us:  info@survivaloutdoorsystems.com

How do you give back to veterans?

1% of every sale supports our nation’s veterans.

Can your kits replace professional medical care?

No. Our kits are designed to help you respond to an injury until professional medical care arrives. In an emergency, always call 911.

How can I reach you?

Email us at info@survivaloutdoorsystems.com. We’re happy to help with questions about our kits or your order.
